A folktronic delicacy with melancholy and rhythm
An outstanding combination of folk-pop melancholy with danceable beats
The German duo Milky Chance -composed of Clemens Rehbein, singer and instruments player, and Philipp Dausch, in charge of the beats- got a huge success with their first single “Stolen Dance“, that topped the lists in half Europe. Their personal downtempo pop has also a very distinctive element: Clemens´ painful and broken voice.
Experimenting with acoustic guitar, techno beats and their voices, they recorded in Rehbein´s own home studio their first self-edited album. YouTube transformed “Stolen Dance” into a viral phenomenon and the rest, as people usually say, is history.
Milky Chance practice the “do it yourself” philosophy , blending the singer and songwriter spirit with electronic beats. According to Clemens, their songs “are melancholic but the background is always positive. And most of them are danceable”.
JACOBO SERRA – (Village Stage – 20.30h)
Jacobo Serra is often called “the Beatle from Albacete”, and one of the reasons is probably his fluent English. His nostalgic songs, halfway between pop and folk-rock, are delivered in a tenor voice that has been often compared with Rufus Wainwright. Besides, he masters all kind of guitars, ukulele, banjo, piano or accordion. And after releasing his album “Don’t Give Up” he has been the supporting artist of The Autumn Defense -the band of Wilco´s bass player- and Marlango.
